Kate loves the process of taking wet clay and changing it be something totally different from its original state. Clay is a medium that keeps you on your toes and has an addictive alchemy.
Kate began her creative journey by taking an evening class and soon became hooked, from this she went on to study ceramics and printmaking as a mature student on her degree and MA. She feels that she is continually learning from her practice but most of all she has learnt so much from teaching.
"My auntie used to have these amazing ceramic mugs with feet on which always fascinated me, that idea of taking something from the mundane and giving it a narrative is the starting point of a lot of my work."
